Pre-Intervention
Preparing for Surgery
Every procedure is planned and performed with precision, using advanced digital tools and minimally invasive techniques, with the goal of ensuring maximum comfort during the procedure and promoting rapid, predictable healing.
The following guidelines are an integral part of the treatment plan. Proper preparation means arriving for the procedure in the best possible condition and making a tangible contribution to the final outcome.
-
It is recommended that you undergo a professional dental cleaning in the days or weeks leading up to the procedure.
Healthy gums with minimal inflammation and a low oral bacterial load promote faster, more stable healing without complications.
In the days leading up to the procedure, it is also recommended to use a 0.2% undiluted chlorhexidine mouthwash for 30 seconds, 2–3 times a day, starting about 5 days before the procedure. This helps improve tissue quality and reduce the risk of infection.
-
Don't come on an empty stomach. It's important to eat a regular meal before the procedure, without overeating.
A well-nourished body is better able to cope with the surgical procedure and the immediate postoperative period, contributing to greater comfort and a more effective biological response.
-
Getting a good night's sleep in the nights leading up to the procedure is essential. Arriving well-rested improves your comfort during the procedure and promotes more effective healing.
If anxiety or thoughts about the surgery are making it difficult for you to sleep or causing you particular stress, please let me and my team know. Together, we’ll explore strategies or supportive therapies to help you feel calm and relaxed. On the day of the surgery, we’ll be there with you to manage each step calmly and carefully.
-
If you smoke, it is strongly recommended that you reduce your smoking at least two weeks before surgery. Less inflamed tissue heals better and faster, significantly reducing the risk of complications.
Approach to Care
An Important Note
The success of a procedure does not depend solely on the surgery itself. Preparation, planning, and collaboration are an integral part of patient care. Following these guidelines means working together to ensure that the experience is stress-free, well-managed, and focused on achieving the best possible outcome.
